 I had a great discussion with a colleague this morning about the role of leaders in our education systems. Are you free to risk and innovate - to show a picture of what future practice could look like? Are you struggling to lead a system (or part of it) in a new direction? How are you helping to embed leadership capacity through your whole system? I’d love to hear an example of something you (or someone else) has done to support leaders at all levels of your school organization.

 Check out one my favorite writers on the subject of systems and leadership Margaret Wheatley. Leadership and the New Science is a groundbreaking work (now in it’s 3rd edition), but Turning to One Another is one of the most profound discussions of our daily practice as it relates to leading. Both help me consider the role of leading through relationships from any part of a system.
